Kunming, 22 jan - 26 jan.
Det kinesiska nyåret inföll i år den 22 jan och inför detta hade jag bestämt med Q2 att jag skulle åka till Kunming och hänga med hennes familj. Det var verkligen otroligt roligt att träffa Q2 och Zhang Fan igen och att träffa hennes familj, de var hur söta som helst!
De hämtade mig på flygplatsen och eftersom det var nyår åkte vi direkt hem till hennes morbrors hus, ett väldigt fint stort hus med väldigt fin inredning. Där kollade vi på det traditionella kinesiska nyårsfirandet på tv, mycket intressant!
Enligt deras (Q2s familj och vad jag förstår de södra kineserna) tradition ska man inte gå ut den första dagen på det nya året så då var vi bara hemma. Vi åt mat och så lärde de mig reglerna till Mahjong så det spelade vi hela tiden :P

Kunming, 22 of Jan to 26th of Jan.
This year the Chinese New Year’s was on the 22 of Jan and before this Q2 and I had decided that I was going to Kunming and hang out with her and her family. It was really fun to see Q2 and Zhang Fan again and to see her family, they were all so cute!
They picked me up at the airport and because it was the New Year’s Eve, we went directly to her uncle’s house, a very nice, big house which was really nice decorated. There we watched the traditional Chinese New Year’s celebration on TV, very interesting!
Their tradition (Q2’s family and from what I understand the southerners’) tradition, you’re not supposed to go out on the first day of the year so we were just at home.  We ate a lot of food and they thought me the rules of Mahjong, so we played it a lot :P

Dag två hade Q2 och Zhang Fan bestämt att vi skulle klättra upp för ett berg för att komma till Drakporten. Det var trappor upp för hela berget och efter ca en minut fick vi stanna för att andas :P Kan tilläggas att det skulle ta tre timmar att klättra upp för hela berget.. Till slut kom vi upp och vilket utsikt! Man kunde se hela Kunming (6 milj. stad) vilket var riktigt coolt!

Day two, Q2 and Zhang Fan had decided that we were going to climb a mountain to go to the dragons’ gate. It was stairs up the whole mountain and after climbing for about one minute we had to stop to catch our breaths :P To add, it was supposed to take three hours to climb the whole way.. We finally came up and what a view! You could see the whole city (a 6 million city) which was really cool!

Efter vi klättrat i bergen tog vi en ”Cable Car” till en minoritets by som de byggt upp för att visa alla minoriteter i Yunnan provinsen. Mycket intressant! Lyckades dra på mig en förkylning också så när vi kom hem var det mest att däcka men först äta massa mat. :)

After climbing the mountain we took a cable car to a minority village, which they built to show all the minorities in the province of Yunnan. Very interesting! I managed to catch a cold too so when we came back home I had some food and then I just crashed. :)

Dag tre, förkylningen var nu värre med huvudvärk och halsont. Familjen hade bestämt att vi skulle åka till Yunnan provinsens enda gamla stad som råkade befinnas i Kunming. Kul och intressant men mycket folk och smuts! Vi var där i ca en timme när min kropp började ge upp, ont i musklerna och feber, vilket gjorde att de skjutsade hem mig medan de åkte för att handla mat. Jag TOTALdäckade. De väckte mig till middagen men jag kände inte för att äta alls. Detta godtogs inte som ursäkt så jag fick lov att äta ändå. Alvedonen jag tagit innan vi åkte hade inte hjälpt alls och familjen började nu ifrågasätta västerländskmedicin och ville ta mig till en kinesisk läkare och ge mig kinesisk medicin. Jag tackade nej. Jag tog en Ibumetin istället och när den började hjälpa och jag blev hungrig fick familjen tillbaka tron på västerländskmedicin. När jag fått i mig lite mat så satte vi oss för att spela Mahjong, vilket vi gjorde resterande del av kvällen.

Day three, the cold I caught was worse with head ache and a sore throat. The family had decided that we were going to the only old town I the whole province of Yunnan, which happens to be in Kunming. Fun and interesting but a lot of people and dirt! We were there for about an hour when my body started to give up on me, sore muscles and fever, which made them drop me of at home while they went to buy food. I CRASHED. They woke me up to eat dinner but I didn’t feel like eating at all. This was not an acceptable excuse and I had to eat anyway. The Aspirin I took before we left home hadn’t kicked in at all so the family started to lose their faith in western medicine and wanted to take me at a Chinese doctor and give me Chinese medicine. I said no thanks. I took another of my Swedish pills and when it kicked in and I got hungry they got back their faith in western medicine. When I had gotten some food, we played some Mahjong and continued with that the whole night.

Eftersom jag mått så dåligt under dagen bestämde jag mig för att boka om min biljett och åkte hem en dag tidigare istället. Kändes jobbigt att vara där och vara sjuk med risk att smitta ner de andra. Så på morgonen, dagen jag skulle åka, tog de mig till ett ställe där en massa fiskmåsar samlas runt det kinesiska nyåret. Nu pratar vi inte om 1-2 fiskmåsar, vi pratar om ett hundratal fiskmåsar och fiskmåsar är inte direkt min favorit typ av djur om vi säger så.. men det gick bra i alla fall! :P

Because I had felt so bad during the day, I decided to rebook my flight so I would leave one day earlier. It felt really bad to be there and be sick with the risk of making them sick so on the morning, on the day I was leaving, they took me to a place were a lot of seagulls gathers around the Chinese New Year’s. We are not talking about 1-2 seagulls, we’re talking about some hundreds of seagulls and they are not really my favorite kind of animals if I put it like that.. But it went ok. :P

Den här resan var riktigt kul, speciellt att träffa Q2 och hennes familj, äta massa annorlunda men god mat, se nya platser och uppleva det kinesiska nyåret. Jag är hemskt tacksam mot Q2 och hennes familj som lät mig vara med och som tog hand om mig, de är otroliga! Så himla snälla och gästvänliga!

This trip was really fun, especially to meet Q2 and her family, eat a lot of different but good food, se new places and experiences the Chinese New Year’s. I’m sooo grateful towards Q2 and her family for letting me celebrates with them and for taking care of me, they are amazing! So nice and hospitable!
